SO, michelle has this strange irrational phobia.... of life guards. she went swimming at six flags at the beginning of the summer and has not had a swim sense. well, she did go for a quick swim in new york but only after much reassuring that there would be no such life guards available. she's kind of crazy about it. if we are near any water, she will ask if they are around. just today the mister took the girls to six flags for a swim and she opted to sit on the chair the ENTIRE time and just watch them. and when they went to go on the rides, if it was a water ride she would ask if life guards were going to be on the ride as well. then she asked me tonight if we could go to the beach. then she stopped herself and asked me if life guards would be there. when i said probably she decided that we shouldn't go. we have tried more times then you know to explain the whole idea of life guards and that they are there to SAVE YOUR LIFE. yep, it hasn't changed her mind about them.i have a feeling the rest of the summer will be dry, swimming suit-less and freaking out about people who are meant to be reassuring not someone to fear. the mister thinks she's caught my crazy. well, perhaps she has.... so sorry kid, you're crazy like mommy.
