SO, i have found that i am starting to really have a fondness for tennessee. our latest adventure was a quick trip down to the volunteer state the weekend before christmas. i drove all by myself with three semi-sick kids for 7 hours to meet up with some friends of mine and i'm not sure i've really recovered yet. but we had so much fun and it was such a joy to visit with some dear friends and meet their family. i just couldn't believe how they took us in and treated us just like family from the first moment of meeting them. they even bought gifts for the girls to open with their own kids on saturday afternoon. elise and michelle took to their new friends whole-heartily and it was hilarious to watch them play. we enjoyed shopping, visiting, making gingerbread houses, painting and lots of eating! i am so grateful to my friends and i wish that we could have spent some more time with them. maybe this could become a annual event? let hope so!
