but when i found out that the mister was leaving for a year my tune started to change. DS lites are kinda convenient babysitters and your children instantly become quiet with concentration. huh. then i found out that a lot of the games you can get are educational. like a reading game for michelle or a math game for elise. the wheels in my mind began to churn and when i got a call from our neighbor who was at a local toys r us telling me about their 50% off sale i made the decision i needed to buy them. not want, need. i would like to keep my sanity for the next year(not to mention continue to have hair) and if a DS lite can accomplish that, so be it. we got some money from our family for christmas gifts that we put towards them and the rest went on our credit card. that's right. we are going into debt for my sanity. tax refunds are coming up soon, right? it'll get paid off then. i keep rationalizing that if i only let them have the DS on weekends and when they are good and have them only play games that will help their minds grow that this is okay. yeah, i'm just being a hypocrite. plain and simple. oh, well. what you going to do about it?
we gave the girls their brain melter the night before the mister left. it was a great distraction to him going and it's been a fantastic babysitter since he's left. especially in the car when before it was all yelling and screaming. now it's silence. i understand what they mean now when they say silence is golden. it is. it really is!
all the excitement...
