my young self playing the piano.
SO, there really was only one thing i wanted from my dad's house when we went down at christmas. that was my grandma's piano. my grandfather had bought it and surprised her with it. later my mom inherited it and eventually it was supposed to go to me. for years we never lived close enough or had room to have the piano. now though, we were finally able to live within a reasonable distance for me to acquire it. you can imagine how worried i was when i went to see how much damage the piano might have. but to my pleasant surprise, it was still perfect. the keys and strings were intact and most importantly it was still in tune. it's a miracle i say considering it has been sitting not played for nearly 15 years.
i think i spent more hours sitting playing and practicing that piano then anywhere else in my home. i used to find such joy and comfort in the music that came from it. i hope one day to get back to my piano playing.
so, thank you mom for footing the expensive bill to have it shipped to my home. it fits perfectly under the stairs, like it was always supposed to be there. i am grateful for your generosity in letting me have it! don't worry, it arrived without any problems.
