SO, i was actually able to ditch my kids and go see this movie at the theater with a new friend of mine.
it was terribly good.
although a bit hard to watch.
it's hard for me to see people act to horribly to not only another race but class and gender too. it makes my skin crawl. during the movie i leaned over to my friend and told her i was glad i didn't live in that time. i would have gotten into a lot of trouble i think.
you'll need tissues. at least i did.
i watched this movie friday night. i actually really liked it. it was depressing but i could relate to the natalie portman character. not that i'm a home-wrecker, but the feeling of not fitting in anywhere. of being misunderstood. i did think it was realistic of life and how families interact. that even if horrible things happen, in the end they will come together to support each other.
this one needs tissues as well.
this movie tries to hard to be like {love,actually}.

that being said, there were a few funny parts.

oh, and no tissues needed. it's a great mocking movie.
