SO, i've never been a fan of {FHE}. by the time you start doing it, you are just ready to get the kids in bed, while the kids become more obnoxious then usual and when it over you are so frazzled you wished that you never ever had kids.
well, at least that's how i always felt.
but when i was visiting the lovely land of arizona this summer, i came across this {BOOK}. i skeptically bought it and wondered if it would work. see, one of the things that was so frustrating for me was having to think of something to do for the lesson, a game, a treat, etc. it's not like i had a load of time to begin with to think of yet another thing to entertain my kids. and have a spiritual purpose to boot. but this book had it all laid out. it explained to me in the most simple mommy mush brain way. i had some hope.
skip to the present. we have been doing the lesson's in the book for two and a half months now, and i have to say it makes monday nights so much calmer. i'm already going in with a game plane and i didn't even have to really put much effort into it. all i have to do is print out the game and challenge cards. my kids seem to LOVE being able to write their names on a challenge card and they actually remember to do it. if you know my kids at all, you know this is an amazing feat.
another thing i've found is that i have to do FHE with my kids at dinner time. this way, they are somewhat distracted by eating and they can't run around like a maniac. (that literally seems to be my children's favorite pass time.) i can bust through the non-complicated lesson, do the game and have the treat after they eat. it's win/win really.
