elise
SO, elise went to a birthday party for her classmate on saturday. she was so excited since it was going to be at Libby Lu's. this place is INSANE. just walking into the place brings dread into my gut. the whole store looks like it threw up pink and glitter EVERYWHERE! so, you can imagine elise's excitement.
i decided to opt out of this excursion with the excuse of not feeling well (which i wasn't), and made the mister go and have some "quality time" with his daughter and 7 other high pitched squealing girls. off they went to brave the mall full of crazed lunatics looking for bargains before Christmas. (don't they know the REAL bargains are after Christmas?) the mister dropped off elise and was told to come back a couple of hours later to see his transformed little innocent darling into a tripped out hoompty girl. (okay, they didn't say that, but that's what happened) when he got back he found 8 giggly girls all done up with braids, pink hair extensions, manicured nails with pink polish and makeup with, you guessed it, pink eye shadow, pink blush, pink lip gloss and glitter glitter glitter! i don't know if it was unfortunate or not that i forgot to give the mister the camera for pictures. by the time elise got home she had pulled out most of her hair, the make up had been smudged off, but her nails did look quite lovely i must say. better than i ever do for her. so i didn't have to see my child look like all the other silly girls out there trying to be much older than their years. my favorite part of this story is what the mister told me later that night. when he got back, the girls where doing a dance at the front of the store to some hip/hop song. they were shaking their hips and moving in a way that maybe a 7-8 year old should not be dancing like. the mister looked around and didn't see elise. then he looked over to the side, and there she was with her arms folded and looking at them in disgust. the mister on the way home asked elise why she wasn't dancing.she replied..."i did want to dance. just not like that." AWESOME! i love my little girl. i hope she keeps that up!
so, elise had her girly time. hopefully enough to last the next few months. she loved every minute of it and i'm glad she did. i'm also REALLY glad i didn't have to go OR pay for it!
****hope this doesn't offend any of you pink, glittery girls.****
