little shop....

elise and i.
she kept smiling like that.
i was ticking me off.

SO
, the mister and i took elise to see {'little shop of horrors'} last night at the {ford's theater}. that's right, we saw a musical in the very same place {abe lincoln was murdered}. fabulous right? uh, sure. in fact we were lucky (?) enough to sit directly underneath the booth he was shot in. i personally find that creepy as hell but whatever. everyone found it cool and were taking pictures.
anyway....

elise took this picture.
this is the {booth lincoln was shot in}.
creepy.
and sad.

the set of {'little shop'}

the musical was fun. it was refreshing to be out with only one child and both parents. my favorite part? not having to push a stroller around or constantly having to find an elevator because you can't take the stairs. i've seen {'little shop'} several times but they were always high school or community college productions so to see a professional version was pretty cool (but also had A LOT more language than i would have cared for) and the special effects for the plant was worth it. that thing was awesome. it even made elise cry when the flower shop owner got eaten. whoops. the only thing i had a hard time with was the main actress who played audrey. she just looked weird. her head was literally twice the size of her body and i found myself more distracted by that than anything she was saying. in the end, i felt all full of myself for being cultured enough to take my child to a musical. yeah, 'cause i'm conceited like that. :)

after the play we went to {fro.zen.yo} for a MASSIVE amount of frozen yogurt. no really, the thing was MASSIVE. and when i say we, i really mean the mister and elise since i was freezing my bum off and wouldn't dream of eating anything to contribute to the shear amount of freezing i was experiencing. they ate it quick and said it was awesome. i'll take their word for it.
then elise and i fell asleep on the metro ride home. then elise and i were grumpy having to wake up from sleeping on the metro ride home. enough said. over all it was a fun and stress-free night and who doesn't love that?
